About the role#
This position supports food service and catering operations on campus. You will assist with food preparation, maintain service areas, and interact directly with customers. This role is open to students across various fields of study, including Nutrition, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Psychology, and Kinesiology.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items by following standardized recipes and directions.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Store food items properly according to safety standards.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations after use.
- Serve food to customers and ensure product levels remain stocked.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide service to guests and co-workers.
- Adhere to safety policies and ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to meet physical demands like lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or use personal protective equipment as required.
