About the role#
This position is for a Student Worker in Food Service or Catering at Sam Houston State. This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in food preparation and customer service operations on campus.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Store food properly in accordance with safety standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables and service counters.
- Serve food to customers, anticipate guest needs, and ensure satisfaction.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Must possess or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or personal protective equipment as required.
