About the role#
This position is for a Student Worker in Food Service or Catering at the University of Akron. It is a paid, on-site role open to students in Business Administration, Nutrition, or Civil Engineering. The position operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes.
- Store food properly according to established standards.
- Serve food to customers and focus on guest satisfaction.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
- Replenish food items and keep products stocked.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a positive demeanor with guests, clients, and co-workers.
What you'll need#
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.

- Compensation: $12.00 to $14.00 per hour.
