About the role#
This is a student worker position within food service and catering at Temple University. You will work on-site in a role that involves food preparation, safety compliance, and customer interaction. The position is open to students across various majors including Business Administration, Nutrition, Civil Engineering, Psychology, Sociology, and Communications.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes.
- Store food properly according to safety standards.
- Set up workstations like prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Clean and sanitize workstations after use.
- Serve food to customers and ensure their needs are met.
- Keep food items stocked and replenished.
- Maintain a positive demeanor while assisting guests and co-workers.
- Follow safety policies, including food sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or personal protective equipment as required.
