About the role#
This is a paid, on-site student worker position at the Firehouse Subs location on the Tennessee State University campus. We are looking for students who want to develop customer service and food preparation skills while working in a team environment. This role is open to students across various fields of study, including Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Sociology, Nutrition, and Psychology.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Properly store food according to safety standards.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
- Serve food to customers while maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Replenish food items and keep products stocked.
- Adhere to safety policies and ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Must have or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to meet physical demands like lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use personal protective equipment if required.
