About the role#
ARA is looking for a Lab Technician Intern to join the Engineering Support Services team in Littleton, Colorado. This is a full-time, on-site role. You will help maintain the laboratory environment and support hardware fabrication for various projects.
What you'll do#
- Maintain over 3000 square feet of laboratory space, including the organization and storage of hardware and test equipment.
- Prepare and set up instrumentation, which includes fabricating cable assemblies for lab and field testing.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, and maintain equipment, components, and systems like 3D printers and laser cutters.
- Support hardware fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Order and manage stock of lab supplies and materials.
- Track time, labor, and materials used for work performed.
- Prepare oral and written reports.
What you'll need#
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or a background in a related field.
- In-depth understanding of hardware and system assembly.
- Proficiency with 3D printing, power tools, precision tools, and general shop tools.
- Familiarity with the safe operation of band saws and other shop equipment.
- Experience with bench top soldering, including surface mount soldering.
- Ability to operate specialized electronic testing equipment safely.
- Familiarity with MS Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong communication skills.
