About the role#
Viracon is seeking Manufacturing Engineering Interns for the summer of 2027. This role offers hands-on experience in a real manufacturing environment. You will work alongside engineering and production teams, receive mentorship from industry experts, and contribute to the development of our glass products. You will spend significant time on the manufacturing floor to gain a practical understanding of our operations.
What you'll do#
- Work with manufacturing engineers and production teams on active projects.
- Spend time on the manufacturing floor to learn processes, equipment, and operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.
- Collect and analyze production data.
- Support process improvement, equipment, tooling, and layout projects.
- Assist with time studies, process documentation, and work instructions.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Help implement engineering solutions and see projects through to completion.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing at the time of the internship.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Interest in manufacturing and hands-on engineering work.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment and spending time on the production floor.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.

- Compensation: Paid ($23.00 to $25.00 per hour).
