About the role#
As a Quality Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting quality initiatives and plant operations in a manufacturing environment. You will work alongside Quality and cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues, identify potential root causes, and support corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts. This role provides an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world manufacturing challenges while developing skills in problem-solving, data analysis, communication, and project management. You will help monitor quality concerns across shifts, follow up on open issues, communicate findings and status updates, and support plant-specific quality projects and assignments.
What you'll do#
- Support the Quality team with daily quality activities, plant objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist cross-functional teams in investigating quality issues identified during production shifts.
- Follow up on quality concerns identified during previous shifts to ensure appropriate actions are completed.
- Help identify, document, and communicate actual and potential quality issues.
- Support root-cause investigations and corrective action activities.
- Track assigned tasks, projects, and action items to ensure timely completion.
- Communicate project and issue status to Quality and other cross-functional team members.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, reporting, and documentation related to quality performance.
- Participate in team meetings and quality improvement activities.
- Support additional plant-specific quality projects and assignments as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university with at least one year of a bachelor’s degree program completed.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
