About the role#
This is a 6-month undergraduate co-op position based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, running from January to June 2027. You will join the Drug Substance Technologies Synthetics team to assist in the development and manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. This role involves translating developmental processes into commercial manufacturing reality while supporting R&D, Clinical, and Commercial partners.
What you'll do#
- Apply synthetic organic chemistry and chemical engineering principles to create processes for API manufacturing.
- Learn the fundamentals of process scale-up for small-molecule intermediates.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to implement advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Contribute to projects spanning from early-stage to late-stage development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Completion of at least one year of study prior to the start date and continued enrollment after the program.
- Degree concentration in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Data Science.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule and reside in the United States for the duration of the co-op.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, and project management skills.
- Initiative, flexibility, and a resourceful approach to problem-solving.
- Hands-on experience in areas such as laboratory work, flow chemistry, biocatalysis, lab automation, or Python-based data analysis.
