About the role#
This six-month co-op position offers an opportunity to work within the Drug Substance Technologies Synthetics organization in Cambridge, Massachusetts. You will support the translation of developmental processes into commercial manufacturing reality. The role focuses on applying synthetic organic chemistry to create processes and technologies for the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. You will work alongside scientists and engineers to support R&D, Clinical, and Commercial partners.
What you'll do#
- Use synthetic organic chemistry to deliver processes for the manufacture of APIs from early to late-stage development.
- Learn the principles of process scale-up for small-molecule intermediates, hybrid modalities, and active pharmaceutical ingredients.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers who implement advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Contribute to the translation of developmental processes into commercial manufacturing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
- Completion of at least one year of study prior to the start of the co-op.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
- Degree concentration in Chemistry, Material Chemistry, or Chemical Biology, with a focus or interest in organic synthesis.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities.
- You must be 18 years or older.
- Continued enrollment in an accredited university is required following the co-op.
