About the role#
Ames Construction is hiring an Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting highway, heavy, and civil construction projects while receiving professional guidance.
What you'll do#
- Support site project management or estimating tasks.
- Assist with document control, submittals, and monthly billing.
- Help with field operations, safety requirements, and environmental compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the project team.
What you'll need#
- Current college junior or senior status pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Outlook.
- A valid driver's license.
- Experience working on a civil or construction site is desired.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and perform under schedule restraints.
Location & details#
- Location: Farmington, New Mexico.
- This role involves working in a construction site environment that requires the physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, and climb. You may be exposed to high noise levels.
- Travel to project locations and regional offices is expected.
