About the role#
The Heavy Civil Construction Internship Program offers students hands-on experience on infrastructure projects. You will work alongside professionals to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges. This is a full-time, paid program for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
You will collaborate with project teams to support daily operations and coordination. Your work includes technical reviews, documentation, and stakeholder communication. You will gain exposure to construction tools and processes while contributing to projects that shape communities.
Depending on your focus area, you may:
- Field Engineering: Support daily construction activities, assist with layout and surveying, and help with quality control.
- Estimating: Analyze plans and specifications, develop cost estimates, and contribute to bid preparation.
- Safety: Participate in safety audits, monitor compliance, and promote a culture of safety on active job sites.
- Geospatial: Use mapping and modeling tools to support project planning and execution.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Safety, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills.
- A desire to learn, contribute, and solve problems.
- A valid Driver’s License.

- This is an on-site internship.
- Available locations: West Valley City, Utah; Reno, Nevada; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Carlin, Nevada.
- This role does not offer visa sponsorship.
