About the role#
The Graduate Coordinator for Student Belonging Initiatives works within the Center for Student Belonging to support an inclusive campus environment. This role focuses on program coordination, student engagement, and resource management to help students build connections and develop leadership skills. You will report to the Associate Directors and work with staff, student leaders, and community partners to strengthen student belonging.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate the Daily Essentials Cabinet, including inventory management, procurement, and restocking.
- Assist with planning and implementing Rooted in Culture heritage celebrations, including event logistics and vendor coordination.
- Develop and implement student engagement opportunities that foster community and belonging.
- Collect and analyze participation and feedback data to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Draft student-facing communications, such as newsletters and social media content, to promote initiatives.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Current enrollment in an American University School of Education graduate program.
- Experience in student programming or leadership development.

- This position is based in Washington, DC.
- The role is part-time and offers a mix of on-site and remote work.
