About the role#
The American Heart Association is hiring an intern for the Development Operations Fundraising Systems team. This position supports regional events including Heart Challenge, Go Red, and Heart Ball. You will gain hands-on experience with fundraising technology, event support, and nonprofit operations during the organization's peak event season.
What you'll do#
- Learn and use fundraising platforms such as Luminate and Givergy.
- Perform data entry, record maintenance, and database updates.
- Monitor the team's shared email inbox and route or respond to internal customer service requests.
- Review and pre-screen email blast requests.
- Participate in pre-event planning and team calls.
- Maintain and organize fundraising and event-related data.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to resolve routine system issues.
- Follow established operational procedures and best practices.
- Assist with special projects and administrative tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current college senior or recent graduate with a background in Business Administration or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel.
- Experience with data entry and management.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Comfort working professionally with various levels of staff.
- Interest in nonprofit operations and mission-driven work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position.
- You must have a reliable WiFi connection.
- The internship runs from January 25, 2027, to May 7, 2027.
- Availability of at least 20 hours per week is required, Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Central Standard Time.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
