About the role#
The American Heart Association is hiring an intern to support our Development Team. You will assist with major campaigns like the Heart Ball and Go Red for Women. This role provides hands-on experience in the non-profit sector while helping us drive community health initiatives. You will work 20 to 25 hours per week from January 2027 through May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Plan, coordinate, and execute pre-event logistics and manage on-site community events.
- Conduct outreach to event attendees to encourage participation.
- Prepare sponsor presentations and gather follow-up materials.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, community leaders, and volunteers.
- Pull reports, enter data, and organize event-related information.
- Handle administrative tasks, including preparing printed materials and assembling thank-you cards.
- Support the planning and execution of Hands-Only CPR demonstrations.
What you'll need#
- You are a senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management.
- Experience or interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
- Comfort working professionally with staff, volunteers, and community leaders.
- Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, plus basic knowledge of Canva.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Availability of at least 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30am and 5pm.
- Reliable WiFi and transportation.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
This is a paid, remote internship based in the Corpus Christi, Texas area. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and the work must be performed within the country.
