About the role#
We are looking for a Design Intern to join our team in the Costa Mesa design studio. This role provides hands-on experience in the fashion industry by supporting the design team through the full product lifecycle, from initial concept to the final creation of collections.
What you'll do#
- Research current fashion trends and gather inspiration to inform design decisions.
- Create detailed sketches and digital renderings to visualize new concepts.
- Help select fabrics, materials, and trims for upcoming designs.
- Assist with the technical design process and produce accurate tech packs, including construction details and sewing instructions.
- Collaborate with the product development team to ensure samples meet our quality standards.
- Attend fittings to evaluate garment fit and make necessary adjustments.
- Keep design records, including samples and prints, well-organized.
- Take part in design critiques to refine concepts based on team feedback.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Fashion Design or Apparel Design.
- Proficiency in hand sketching or digital illustration.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- A basic understanding of fibers and fabrics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- A keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Availability to work 20-25 hours per week.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, part-time internship based on-site in Costa Mesa, California.
- The term for this position is Winter 2027.
