About the role#
Allen Lund Company is hiring an intern for a rolling internship based in Des Moines, Iowa. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position. We look for individuals pursuing degrees in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Logistics. This role offers the potential for a full-time position upon completion for the right candidate.
What you'll do#
- Assist with load tracking, tracing, and ensuring app compliance.
- Build loads, set up carriers, and schedule pickup and delivery appointments.
- Update customer systems and provide critical information for shipper and carrier tracking.
- Gain training and exposure to booking loads.
- Develop comfort and confidence communicating with carriers over the phone regarding lanes, equipment, and availability.
- Manage carrier documentation, including contacting insurance companies for certificates and checking references.
- Answer phones, distribute calls to brokers, and support the accounting team.
- Handle general office duties while following company principles.
