About the role#
Ahern is hiring a Fire Sprinkler Design Intern for our office in Des Moines, Iowa. This is a paid, full-time position that offers hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will work on various fire protection system design projects and gain mentorship from industry experts.
What you'll do#
- Design automatic sprinkler systems using AutoCAD and AutoSPRINK.
- Create fire protection sprinkler systems that follow applicable codes and contract requirements.
- Prepare stock lists in the standard company format.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in a related field, such as Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- Prior experience working with AutoCAD.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Helpful, but not required, is previous knowledge of the construction industry.
