About the role#
As a Fire Systems Technician Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by working directly with an experienced field technician. You will assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems. This is a paid, full-time opportunity based in Madison, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Perform inspections and tests on special hazards systems.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions related to system wiring and equipment.
- Ensure fire protection systems are installed correctly.
- Interact with general contractors and other trades on a daily basis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor degree program, ideally in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- A strong focus on safety in the workplace.
- Willingness to travel as required by project needs.
- Excellent customer service skills when communicating with contractors and team members.
