About the role#
This position is for a student technologist to gain clinical experience while supporting the radiology department. You will work under the direct supervision of a radiology technologist to help with patient care and diagnostic procedures. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic diagnostic x-rays under the supervision of a technologist.
- Prepare patients for exams and ensure their safety.
- Assist physicians and technologists with diagnostic exams across various modalities.
- Retrieve patient orders and manage documentation in the RIS and EMR systems.
- Help patients with clinical support needs like using restrooms or bedpans.
- Obtain medications, contrast media, or radiopharmaceuticals as directed.
- Support administrative tasks, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Answer patient questions regarding procedures.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a medical imaging certificate or degree program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Clinical experience aligned with your educational program.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving patients and equipment.
- Medical clerical skills are preferred.
- Preference is given to senior or 2nd-year radiography students.

- Compensation: $21.00 per hour.
