About the role#
Advanced Behavioral Health Inc. is hiring Therapists for the Stand Tall and Remain in School (STARS) program. This role provides school-based mental health services to students in grades K-12 within Carroll County Public Schools. You will work to address school refusal behavior and support student attendance, engagement, and well-being.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to students.
- Conduct clinical assessments to evaluate mental health, emotional, and behavioral needs related to school refusal and chronic absenteeism.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using trauma-informed interventions.
- Collaborate with school personnel, families, and other service providers to coordinate care.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans to support positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Manage a caseload of 20-25 clients with weekly sessions.
What you'll need#
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related discipline.
- Current Maryland license as an LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, or LCPC.
- Previous experience with psychotherapy is desired.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and travel 60% of the time.
- Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic differences.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.

- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Westminster, Maryland.
- The role involves a rolling term.
