About the role#
Advanced Behavioral Health Inc. is seeking Therapists for the Stand Tall and Remain in School (STARS) program. This role provides school-based mental health services to students in grades K-12 within Carroll County Public Schools. You will focus on addressing school refusal behavior and associated mental health challenges through a family-centered, wraparound approach to treatment.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to students in grades K-12.
- Conduct clinical assessments to evaluate mental health, emotional, and behavioral needs related to school refusal and chronic absenteeism.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions.
- Collaborate with school personnel, families, and other service providers to coordinate care.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans to support positive mental health outcomes and school attendance.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
- Manage a caseload of 20-25 clients with weekly sessions.
What you'll need#
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related discipline.
- Current licensure in the state of Maryland as an LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, or LCPC.
- Previous experience in psychotherapy is desired.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and travel 60% of the time.
- Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic differences.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and listening skills.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.

- Location: Westminster, Maryland.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $63,500 - $85,000 based on licensure, experience, and bilingual status.
