    About the role#

    This internship offers hands-on experience within a non-profit health organization. You will support community health strategies across Oklahoma, focusing on nutrition security, health education, and resource development. This position runs from January 25, 2027, to May 7, 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Organize and implement health initiatives that are culturally appropriate for local communities.
    • Support priority issues including hypertension control, nutrition insecurity, and tobacco or vaping prevention.
    • Connect with rural healthcare centers and community-based organizations.
    • Assist with internal program evaluations and the Nation of Lifesavers Council to improve community readiness.
    • Develop impact stories, communication pieces, and resources like playbooks or tools.
    • Research local organizations to identify collaboration opportunities.
    • Help plan and run trainings, community meetings, health fairs, and other events.

    What you'll need#

    • Current status as a senior or graduate student in public health, community health, advocacy, or a related field.
    • Availability of at least 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 9am and 5pm.
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint, plus basic knowledge of Canva.
    • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with high attention to detail.
    • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    Location & details#

    • This is a remote position, but you must be based in Oklahoma.
    • Reliable transportation is required, as you must be willing to travel between Tulsa and Oklahoma City for meetings and events.
    • A reliable Wi-Fi connection is necessary for remote work.
    • This is a paid internship at $23.00 per hour.
