About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Freeport, Illinois. You will work on-site, supporting the Engineering Manager with manufacturing plant projects. This role provides hands-on experience with the daily responsibilities and project work typical of an industrial engineer.
What you'll do#
- Map processes to optimize workflow.
- Identify and remove bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
- Redesign and optimize facility layouts.
- Review assembly line balances.
- Conduct time studies and develop performance standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Industrial Engineering or a related technical field, with preference for students finishing their sophomore or junior year.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and clear verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work well with others while remaining self-motivated to complete individual tasks.
