About the role#
We are looking for a Non-Clinical and Diagnostics Statistician Intern to join our animal health team for the summer of 2027. You will shadow full-time statisticians and gain practical experience applying statistical methods to product development, manufacturing, and analytical activities. This role is designed for a PhD student interested in how statistical thinking supports science-based decision-making in a regulated environment. You may also have the opportunity to work on a focused independent project and develop a poster presentation.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and evaluation of designed experiments, including identifying factors, responses, and appropriate experimental designs.
- Assist with the analysis and visualization of experimental, process, and analytical data.
- Learn how statistical principles are applied to establish product and process specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Help interpret study results and communicate statistical conclusions to technical project teams.
- Participate in project meetings to gain exposure to interactions among statistics, analytical development, manufacturing, quality, and other CMC functions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program in statistics, biostatistics, applied statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Coursework or practical experience in experimental design, regression, analysis of variance, or related statistical methods.
- Interest in applying statistics to pharmaceutical, biologics, veterinary medicine, animal health, or another life sciences setting.
- Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team.
