About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers a hands-on internship program for students pursuing careers in heavy equipment mechanics. You will work in a shop environment to gain practical experience with diesel engines and construction or agriculture equipment. This role focuses on skill development through mentorship from senior technicians.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines.
- Work alongside senior technicians to build your mechanical skills.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive and timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Participate in scholarship and internship programs to gain professional experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program in diesel engine mechanics or a related field.
- A record of good grades and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks like climbing, kneeling, and squatting.
Location & details#
- Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid position.
- Starting wage: $21.00 per hour.
- This role is safety-sensitive and requires a drug test.
