About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers a hands-on internship for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain experience diagnosing and repairing machinery used in the agriculture, construction, and mining industries. What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines and equipment.
- Work directly in a shop environment.
- Learn technical skills from senior technicians.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive and timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program in diesel engine mechanics or a related field.
- A record of maintaining good grades.
- Positive recommendations from your instructors.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- The ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks like bending, kneeling, and climbing.
