About the role#
The Robotics and Innovation team develops driver assistance and automated driving functions. You will work on software for low-speed parking systems and highway driving capabilities. This role involves collaboration with software, controls, safety, and vehicle integration teams to build production-ready solutions.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and test C++ software modules for perception, sensor fusion, state estimation, and motion control.
- Integrate and debug software on Linux platforms and vehicle prototypes using ROS or ROS 2.
- Develop state-space models, observers, and control approaches like Model Predictive Control.
- Analyze vehicle and sensor data to improve system performance.
- Work within Git-based environments for code review and continuous integration.
- Participate in bench testing and vehicle validation, including interfacing with CAN networks, sensors, and actuators.
- Document technical assumptions, testing results, and design decisions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field with junior standing or higher.
- Coursework in control systems and either dynamics, embedded systems, or electrical systems.
- Proficiency in C++ through coursework, projects, or research.
- Experience with Linux and Git, including branching and commits.
- Hands-on experience with robotics or engineering projects.
- Exposure to at least two of the following: feedback control, state estimation, vehicle dynamics, embedded systems, or electromechanical integration.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting controller or system performance.
- Familiarity with ROS, ROS 2, MATLAB, Simulink, or Python is preferred.
- Effective communication skills and a willingness to work hands-on with hardware and vehicles.
