About the role#
Zekelman Industries is looking for a Workforce Development Intern to support programs that help employees, apprentices, and students build their careers in manufacturing. You will work with the Workforce Development team to create tools, processes, and documentation that improve how we train and retain talent across the company. This role focuses on solving problems and managing projects that have a lasting impact on our organization.
What you'll do#
- Analyze apprenticeship, internship, and talent development programs to identify ways to improve participant outcomes.
- Create tools, resources, and frameworks to enhance employee development and help programs scale.
- Partner with HR, Operations, and business leaders to understand talent needs and support development solutions.
- Manage project milestones, coordinate stakeholders, and drive initiatives to completion.
- Build dashboards, scorecards, and reports to measure program participation, engagement, and effectiveness.
- Research industry trends to inform our program strategy.
- Present your findings, recommendations, and project outcomes to stakeholders.
- Assist with planning and coordinating team events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Workforce Development, Human Resources, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong interest in talent development, organizational effectiveness, or project management.
- Ability to take initiative, own your work, and handle ambiguity.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and project management skills.
- Comfort working with data, Excel, and reporting tools.
- Experience leading projects, improving processes, conducting research, or coordinating events is preferred.
