About the role#
Zekelman Industries is looking for a Logistics Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in either Troy, Michigan, or Austin, Texas. You will work alongside our logistics team to support daily operations, including shipment coordination, transportation planning, and project scheduling. This role offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and provides exposure to the various stages of the supply chain.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and update project shipping schedules and provide status updates.
- Attend project meetings to document discussions and summarize action items.
- Coordinate scheduling and delivery communications between manufacturing facilities, project sites, and carriers.
- Monitor shipment activity and address delivery concerns.
- Prepare, organize, and distribute shipping documentation such as bills of lading and packing lists.
- Enter and maintain data within our ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Track freight-related issues and assist with logistics reporting.
- Support process improvement initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with logistics, transportation, or distribution environments.
- Exposure to ERP systems is a plus.
- A genuine interest in building a career within supply chain or operations.
