About the role#
As a Quality Engineer Intern at Wheatland Tube, you will support quality assurance activities to improve product consistency and process efficiency. You will report to the Department Manager of Quality Assurance and participate in audits, inspections, calibration, and improvement projects. This role provides direct experience with quality systems and plant operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform process audits to check compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Verify the accuracy and effectiveness of quality and operations plans.
- Conduct time studies to evaluate process efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
- Audit and assess material stock for quality compliance.
- Support product tracking and coordinate material disposition.
- Research and recommend inspection technologies and quality tools.
- Manage the facility gage calibration system.
- Assist with documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement tasks.
- Follow healthy and safe work practices.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of Access is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate across teams.
- Comfort working in both office and outdoor environments.
- Availability to travel for the Internship Summit.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Warren, Ohio.
- The program runs from May 24, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
