About the role#
Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking an Architectural Designer Intern for Summer 2027. This on-site role is based in Troy, Michigan, and runs from May 24, 2027, through August 13, 2027. You will report to the Architectural Project Manager and work with architects, engineers, and construction professionals. This position focuses on the design and development of modular building solutions.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing architectural plans, sections, elevations, details, and other drafting tasks.
- Prepare shop drawings for plant fabrication using Revit.
- Develop construction details for shop installation and site-built conditions.
- Research and identify products like finishes and fixtures.
- Research building codes and standards for compliance.
- Join team members for occasional on-site project observations in Arizona and Texas.
- Provide solutions to daily design, sequencing, or integration challenges.
- Promote safe and healthy work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Knowledge and experience with Revit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Availability to travel for the company Internship Summit.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
