About the role#
Youth Villages offers a paid internship for students pursuing a Master's degree. This position provides hands-on experience in mental and behavioral health. You will work within home and community settings to support children and their families. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional to match the availability of the families served.
What you'll do#
- Shadow counselors during home and community-based family sessions.
- Carry a reduced caseload and implement interventions.
- Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.
- Attend three weekly meetings focused on professional development, including individual, team, and clinical consultation sessions.
- Access clinical trainings to enhance your skills.
- Provide transportation to various locations as needed.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Master's degree program in a social services discipline, such as psychology, criminal justice, or related fields.
- A valid driver's license.
- Access to an automobile for work purposes.
- Proof of auto insurance.
