About the role#
Youth Villages offers a paid internship for students currently pursuing a Master's degree in a social services discipline. This role provides hands-on experience in community-based family programs. Placements are designed to meet your specific academic requirements and practicum needs. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, as it is based on the availability of the families we serve.
What you'll do#
- Shadow counselors during home and community-based family sessions.
- Manage a reduced caseload and implement clinical interventions.
- Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.
- Attend three weekly meetings focused on professional development, including individual, team, and clinical consultations.
- Participate in clinical trainings to enhance your skills.
- Provide transportation to various locations as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within our electronic medical record system.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Master's degree program in a social services field, such as psychology, criminal justice, or related disciplines.
- A current, valid driver's license.
- Access to an automobile for work purposes.
- Proof of auto insurance.
