About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for those who want to serve and grow in their faith. You will work alongside an experienced staff person at a military installation. This role focuses on building relationships with teens, modeling a life of faith, and creating a community where they can find connection and support.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with your supervising staff to review ministry goals.
- Participate in a leadership team to run Club Beyond meetings and small group ministry.
- Create a 90-day personal growth plan that includes prayer, reflection, and Bible study.
- Attend Chapel on the installation and participate in volunteer leader meetings.
- Meet weekly with a volunteer to support their involvement in the ministry.
- Learn to recruit and train new leaders to build a diverse leadership team.
- Assist with outreach efforts to reach unchurched teens.
- Lead and equip volunteers for middle and high school youth ministry.
- Raise financial support and send monthly updates to your donor partners.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma earned at least two years ago.
- A deep love for Christ and for teens.
- A teachable heart and strong initiative.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Energy and skills in small event planning.
- Commitment to a relational approach to ministry.
- Willingness to raise part of your budget through personal support.
- Preference for students or graduates with a background in Psychology.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship located in Alexandria, Virginia.
- The program operates on a rolling basis.
- You must live near the community where you serve.
- Sponsorship is not provided.
