About the role#
Young Life Military offers an internship for individuals with a heart for youth ministry. You will work alongside an experienced staff person to serve military teens in Fort Walton Beach. This role focuses on building relationships, modeling a personal example of faith, and creating a community where teens can build friendships and find support. You will be expected to live near the community where you perform your ministry.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with supervising staff to review ministry goals.
- Lead and participate in Club Beyond clubs and small group ministry sessions.
- Develop a 90-day personal growth plan to foster your spiritual life.
- Attend Chapel on the installation.
- Attend volunteer leader meetings and mentor one volunteer on their involvement.
- Recruit and train new leaders to build a diverse leadership team.
- Manage financial support by raising funds and sending monthly updates to your donor partners.
- Develop outreach strategies for unchurched teens and equip volunteers for middle and high school ministry.
What you'll need#
- High school graduation at least two years prior to the start date.
- A deep love for Christ and a desire to serve teens.
- Strong initiative and a teachable heart.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Willingness to raise part of your budget through personal support.
- Commitment to a relational ministry approach.
- Experience or skills in small event planning.
- High energy and a proactive attitude.

- Schedule: Full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship. Participants are responsible for raising a portion of their salary, ranging from $1,160 to $4,000 depending on the specific term.
