About the role#
This full-time Structural Engineering Co-op position is based in our Boston office. The role is part of the Northeastern University Co-op Program for the Winter 2027 term. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to gain hands-on experience and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Support the preparation of final design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions.
- Help collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training tasks.
- Learn basic principles of structural engineering while developing your technical and ethical skills.
- Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources and follow the WSP Code of Conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate, Masters, or PhD program in Civil or Structural Engineering at Northeastern University.
- Anticipated graduation date of May 2027 or later.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to follow direction from managers and mentors.
- A demonstrated interest in structural engineering and a desire to advance your skills.
- Experience with Autodesk Revit, ETABS, AutoCad, or STAAD is preferred.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company health and conduct policies.
