About the role#
WSP is hiring a full-time Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This 12-week program allows you to work alongside senior staff on real projects in our Sunrise, Florida office. You will gain hands-on experience while developing technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Support various engineering tasks to build technical and ethical skills.
- Learn the basic principles of plumbing engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program for Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineering.
- A graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A demonstrated interest in plumbing or fire protection engineering.
- Ability to travel based on project requirements.
- Experience with CAD, REVIT, or 3D modeling is preferred.

- Location: Sunrise, Florida.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027, starting May 17, 2027.
- Compensation: $23.03 - $29.96 per hour.
