About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 within our kW Mission Critical Team. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to build your technical and professional skills. The program lasts 12 weeks, starting May 17, 2027, though individual start dates may be flexible. Please note that we do not provide relocation or housing assistance for this position.
What you'll do#
- Support various engineering tasks to build technical and ethical skills.
- Learn the basic principles of Controls Engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training modules.
- Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources and conduct.
- Perform additional duties as business needs arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer, or Controls Engineering.
- An anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated interest in Controls Engineering.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to take direction from managers and mentors.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A track record of following workplace safety policies.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is preferred.
