About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship within the Power and Energy team. You will participate in a 12-week program starting May 17, 2027. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to build your technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Support a variety of engineering tasks.
- Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Support the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Maintain project documentation.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering or related undergraduate program.
- Anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated interest in Civil Engineering.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing and Microsoft Office.
- Proven record of upholding workplace safety.
- Demonstrated academic achievement with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Coursework in structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, and surveying.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Prior internship or related engineering experience is preferred.
- Passed or scheduled to take the FE/EIT exam is a plus.
- Familiarity with design or drafting software like MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, or AUTOCAD.
