About the role#
WSP is hiring a full-time Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site at our Irvine, California office. This 12-week program provides hands-on experience, allowing you to work alongside senior staff on real projects. You will also have access to mentorship and networking through our Developing Professionals Network.
What you'll do#
- Support various engineering tasks to build your technical and professional skills.
- Learn the basic principles of Civil Engineering.
- Assist with field work, project research, and preliminary design analysis or calculations.
- Help prepare cost estimates, special provisions, and final design plans.
- Maintain and collect project documentation.
- Complete assigned training modules.
- Follow company policies, including the Code of Conduct, and manage resources ethically.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate, masters, or PhD program for Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field, with a graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States when the internship begins.
- Basic proficiency with spreadsheets, office software, technical writing, and digital tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to take direction from managers and mentors.
- A history of maintaining workplace safety.
- Interest in Civil and Environmental engineering.
- Preferred: Prior leadership experience on campus or previous internships.

- Location: Irvine, CA.
- Term: Summer 2027 (starting May 17, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $24.76 to $32.22 per hour.
