    About the role#

    WithersRavenel is seeking a Water/Wastewater Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based in our Charlotte and Cary, North Carolina offices. You will work directly with our Utilities team to gain experience in how engineering designs move from initial concepts to final completion.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist the team with data review and research relevant codes and standards.
    • Help develop project layouts, design concepts, and detailed drawings.
    • Use industry software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create reports, drawings, and other project deliverables.
    • Support the team in keeping project documentation organized.
    • Participate in occasional job site visits, which may involve working outdoors.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Civil or Environmental Engineering.
    • A strong interest in applying your academic knowledge to real-world engineering projects.
    • An organized and detail-oriented approach to your work.
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to work on-site and occasionally perform physical tasks such as carrying up to 25 pounds of equipment.

    • Locations: Charlotte, NC and Cary, NC.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (mid-May through early August).
    • Status: Paid, full-time internship.
    • A housing stipend is provided for the summer session.
