About the role#
Braun Intertec is looking for a student to join the Rochester, MN office for a 6-month co-op. This is a paid, full-time position that runs from May through December 2027. You will receive technical training and the chance to earn industry certifications. You will also be paired with a professional engineer who will serve as your mentor.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing on construction materials including soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
- Conduct onsite materials testing for commercial and transportation construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and technicians to ensure project specifications are met.
- Participate in a 3-day training event covering safety, lab procedures, and field techniques.
- Gain exposure to industry standards from ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain, heights, or confined spaces.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a civil engineering or construction management degree program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
- Commitment to a full-time, 6-month schedule.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.

- Compensation: $20 to $24 per hour.
