About the role#
WeVote is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that builds open-source technology to help voters prepare for Election Day. This internship offers experience in political data, civic tech, and the nonprofit sector. You will work within a remote team to help provide voters with clear, accessible information.
What you'll do#
- Research and update information for political candidates across various U.S. states.
- Track candidate declarations and ballot measures.
- Collect endorsements and voter guides from a variety of organizations.
- Manage and input data into our open-source platforms.
- Spot-check political data nationwide and investigate reported issues.
- Provide political data insights to support marketing efforts.
What you'll need#
- An interest in U.S. politics, elections, or civic engagement.
- A detail-oriented and proactive approach to learning.
- Willingness to collaborate remotely with a diverse volunteer team.
- Alignment with our nonpartisan mission and values.
- Access to a device and the internet.
- You must be located in the U.S. during the academic term.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Commitment: 10 hours per week for 10 to 12 weeks, including one hour for a team meeting between 8am and 5pm PT.
- Modality: Remote.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid volunteer position.
