About the role#
The Imaging Intern for Computed Tomography supports the radiology department by performing radiographic procedures under the direction of a Certified Radiographer. This role requires the use of independent judgment and technical skills to achieve quality examinations while maintaining established safety and environmental standards.
What you'll do#
- Transfer and position patients, including the use of immobilization devices as needed.
- Select and operate imaging equipment to produce quality radiographic images based on individual patient needs.
- Provide radiation protection for both patients and yourself according to safety standards.
- Maintain a sanitary environment by practicing sterile techniques and universal precautions.
- Document patient activity in computer systems according to departmental procedures.
- Assess patient age-specific data to provide appropriate care for assigned populations.
- Support safety initiatives by reporting hazardous conditions and participating in safety education programs.
- Ensure compliance with all established policies, quality assessments, and infection control standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Successful completion of all clinical competency requirements within your program.
- Knowledge of growth and development principles across the patient life span.
- Ability to provide direct patient care to assigned age groups.
- A demonstrated commitment to the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
