Imaging Intern - Computed Tomography

About the role#

As an Imaging Intern in Computed Tomography, you will work under the direction of a Certified Radiographer to perform radiographic procedures. This role involves using independent judgment and technical skills to achieve quality examinations while maintaining established departmental policies and safety standards. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

What you'll do#

• Transfer and position patients, utilizing immobilization devices when necessary.
• Select appropriate technical factors on an individual patient basis.
• Operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images.
• Ensure radiation protection for both patients and yourself according to safety standards.
• Maintain a sanitary environment by practicing sterile techniques and universal precautions.
• Document patient activity accurately within computer systems.
• Assess and interpret patient age-specific data to provide appropriate care.
• Comply with safety regulations, report potential hazards, and participate in safety education programs.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Satisfactory completion of all clinical competency requirements within your program.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span of patient populations.
• Demonstrated ability to provide direct patient care to assigned age groups.
• A strong commitment to patient, visitor, and staff safety.
