About the role#
As an Imaging Intern in Computed Tomography, you will work under the direction of a Certified Radiographer to perform radiographic procedures. This role involves using independent judgment and technical skills to achieve quality examinations while maintaining established departmental policies and safety standards. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Transfer and position patients, utilizing immobilization devices when necessary.
- Select appropriate technical factors on an individual patient basis.
- Operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images.
- Ensure radiation protection for both patients and yourself according to safety standards.
- Maintain a sanitary environment by practicing sterile techniques and universal precautions.
- Document patient activity accurately within computer systems.
- Assess and interpret patient age-specific data to provide appropriate care.
- Comply with safety regulations, report potential hazards, and participate in safety education programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Satisfactory completion of all clinical competency requirements within your program.
- Knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span of patient populations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide direct patient care to assigned age groups.
- A strong commitment to patient, visitor, and staff safety.
