About the role#
Internal Audit is changing how we assess risk and test controls. We are moving away from manual, sample-based testing toward data-driven, full-population analysis and predictive risk scoring. As a Data Intelligence Intern, you will work directly with transactional data from our enterprise systems. You will build analyses that shape audit priorities and help prototype AI and automation approaches. This role requires curiosity about business data and the ability to explain technical findings to others.
What you'll do#
- Extract, clean, and analyze large transactional datasets to identify anomalies, trends, and control exceptions.
- Build dashboards and visualizations to help auditors spot outliers across full populations.
- Support the design and testing of predictive and risk-scoring models that prioritize audit attention.
- Assist in developing and testing AI-assisted audit workflows.
- Document data sources, logic, and assumptions behind analyses to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Partner with auditors to translate business questions into structured data queries and defensible findings.
- Present findings to the audit team in a clear, non-technical way.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, MIS, or a related field.
- Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic modeling.
- Exposure to a query or scripting language such as SQL, Python, or R through coursework or projects.
- Coursework or project experience in data science, machine learning, or predictive analytics is preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP systems, or enterprise data structures is preferred.
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools is preferred.
- Interest in accounting, audit, risk management, or corporate governance is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI and LLM tools as applied to structured business data is preferred.
