About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will join our team to support the backend infrastructure and commercial operations that power our autonomous vehicle fleet. We look for students who want to build internal tools and scale systems that keep our robotaxi services running.
What you'll do#
- Improve backend infrastructure stability and reliability.
- Build features for applications like vehicle maintenance tracking and Event Response.
- Optimize our robotaxi marketplace to balance supply and demand.
- Design backend systems that support ride hailing and fleet management.
- Develop machine learning and optimization models for vehicle routing, demand forecasting, passenger destination suggestions, dispatch optimization, and ETA prediction.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- You have experience with backend development and general distributed systems.
- You are comfortable programming in C++ or writing efficient, clean code.
- You communicate well with both technical and non-technical team members.
- You are interested in building infrastructure, internal tools, and frameworks.
- You have an interest in scaling commercial operations and self-driving technology.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Mountain View or San Francisco, California.
- The role is hybrid.
- Hourly pay is $60 for Bachelors students and $70 for Masters students.
- We do not offer sponsorship for this role.
