About the role#
The WBD Academic Year (WAY) Internship Program provides a six-month opportunity for rising seniors to gain professional experience within CNN news operations in Atlanta. This program runs from October 12, 2026, to April 16, 2027. Interns are expected to work 16-24 hours per week. This is a paid, hybrid position.
What you'll do#
- Conduct daily news research and diligent fact-checking.
- Shadow and assist editorial staff in their daily operations.
- Handle logistics for guest bookings and conduct pre-interviews for show segments.
- Gather media, including archival footage, and assist with tape logging and transcription.
- Attend editorial meetings and liaise with various show teams.
- Prepare interview clips for broadcast after they air.
What you'll need#
- Must be an undergraduate student entering your senior year, graduating in Spring 2027.
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of current events and an interest in broadcast news or documentary storytelling.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite, specifically Premiere and Photoshop.
- Ability to multitask and work in a high-volume environment.
