About the role#
This internship offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the CNN Weather and Climate department during the Fall 2026 term. Interns will work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity, supporting both domestic and international weather and climate coverage across various platforms.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the production of on-air, digital, video, and written weather and climate content.
- Research weather, climate, and science-related stories to support the department.
- Learn weather graphics software and build elements for on-air, digital, and video use.
- Contribute to coverage of breaking weather and related news stories.
- Record a demo reel to support professional development.
What you'll need#
- Must be a rising Junior or rising Senior undergraduate student.
- Currently majoring in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a science-related journalism field.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in academic good standing.
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and video proficiency.
- Ability to identify, research, and report on scientific, weather, or climate news.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

- Locations: Atlanta, Georgia or New York, New York.
- Term: Fall 2026 (October 12th to December 18th).
- Compensation: Paid at $19 per hour.
