About the role#
CNN Newsgathering offers multiple internship opportunities in New York City for the Fall 2026 term. These positions provide hands-on experience within a major news organization, allowing students to contribute to daily broadcasts and digital platforms. Interns work in a hybrid capacity for 10 weeks, from October 12th to December 18th, with a commitment of 16 to 24 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Pitch stories and conduct daily research for scripts.
- Assist in producing packages and segments for daily shows.
- Gather and publish news content for national and regional audiences.
- Write scripts for broadcast news programming.
- Edit video for segments and curate images for wire articles.
- Create original packages for affiliate newscasts and websites.
- Publish affiliate links and utilize social media to promote content.
What you'll need#
- Must be a rising Junior or Senior undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited degree program.
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher and be in academic good standing.
- Strong writing skills and keen attention to detail.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere.
- An interest in all aspects of digital and broadcast news media.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment in New York City.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
