About the role#
Virtu offers a 10-week summer internship for students interested in frontend and user experience development. This program provides exposure to financial markets through real-world development projects, ongoing training, and collaboration with a team of traders and software engineers. Interns will work on projects designed to improve the scalability, performance, and efficiency of trading systems while learning to architect tools that handle massive amounts of data.
What you'll do#
- Complete a variety of challenging development projects.
- Work alongside a senior team to improve trading system performance.
- Gather requirements from traders and developers to implement real-time trading, visualization, analysis, and reporting tools.
- Support the massive volume of data processed by trading systems daily.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising junior or a student expected to be ready for full-time employment between December 2027 and June 2028.
- An academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript, React, and Node.
- Experience with TypeScript, Java, C++, or Python is considered a plus.
- A motivated approach with a proven ability to take initiative and solve problems independently.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
